Workshop Description
How does parts work help your client's brain create a path of healing? In this course we will look at how parts work from a neurobiological perspective. When you understand the underlying principles of how parts work are functioning in your client's brain you will be able to be more creative and flexible with your parts work. If you are new to parts work or if you know you like parts work but feel you are lacking some skills in being able to apply it, then this workshop will help. If you are already doing lots of parts work and love it and also would like to see more clinical tape, understand how parts work helps your clients brain heal, and would like to deepen the skills you have then this course is a great fit for that too.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
1. Describe the system in the brain that witnesses parts and how this adds emotional regulation.
2. List the steps to follow in order to locate and start working with a part.
3. Use the intervention of a parts map to their work.
4. Describe the brain changes that can occur in parts work.
5. Explain memory reconsolidation experiences and witnessing mind skills through parts work.

About Juliane Taylor Shore, LPC-S, LMFT-S, SEP
Juliane Taylor Shore, LPC-S, LMFT-S, SEP, (AKA Jules) is a therapist and trainer of therapists in Austin, Texas. She specializes in applying Interpersonal Neurobiology to the healing of trauma and the creation of relational health with the people who come and see her. Jules graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling from the St. Edwards University in Austin Texas. Jules is an EMDR trained therapist, Internal Family Systems trained therapist, a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and a Relational Life Therapy Certified Therapist. Jules became a therapist because she stumbled into a therapist's office when she was in a hard space, fought with him for several months over whether or not feelings are important (she argued they were not), and found herself at the other end, transformed. So, she went to grad school and studied neuroscience to try to prove herself wrong... and here she is writing, speaking, running intensive trauma recovery sessions, and relational healing workshops and couple's intensives, all while teaching Interpersonal Neurobiology to anyone who will listen to her. She has always been passionate about relationships and relational health. Jules is incredibly passionate about welcoming us all, with all of our messiness, and with loving firmness that can create repair and growth.
